I have not been able to blog out all these thoughts in my head, as my access to the net has been restricted, ho-hum....and it really sucks if at the time of wanting to write about something, I can't! it is truly frustrating- grrrr. So, forgive me if this post would be a scatterbrain of some sort, hahaha...But anyway, here I am once again & hopefully I could rummage through my brain for those lost thoughts that I wanted to write about.
Well, let me begin with Christmas (which had come and gone) it was delightful! :) We had a party at my sister's place- christmas games, heaps of food , marvellous company and of course, secret Santa. It was fun! how very blessed we are indeed. I did not have enough money to spend on presents this year so I decided to just buy canvasses and I made block art- I painted ! haha or rather ho, ho, ho as those served as my gifts, a labour of love I suppose (giggle). They loved it, so that was good :)
On the darker side (LOL...), Christmas 'aint complete without it's share of family drama (ugh! i know! don't you hate them?) they tend to crop up unawares & boom! someone's just about ready to strangle the other, tsk, tsk...but I guess that's what we call family dynamics. It is strange, sad and very, very discomfiting- some people's idea of excitement. BUT we survived, yet again.
Okay, for my film review- I have watched "Where The Wild Things Are" and I absolutely fell head over heels with it! it is a very thought provoking film. It was adapted from an old children's picture book from 1963 by Maurice Sendak and revolves around the character of a little boy named Max and his imaginary friends, who are monsters. It was a popular book and yet I have not read it before! I now want to hunt down all three of Sendak's books & buy them. I have a thing for good children's books see, they have a wealth of wisdom hidden between the lines and now that I have become an adult, I clearly see them and at the same time I enjoy the simplicity of the author's storytelling.
Back to the film: well, I just adore the storyline, the costumes (fantastic!), and the characters - everything was just great. Again, it is all about family, anger I suppose, changes, and relationships. I don't know why, but it just spoke to me on so many levels (sob!). Below is the trailer if you wanna check it out:
